1. Carbon Fiber – Structural upgrades

Carbon fiber reinforced plastic, aka carbon fiber composite is the common way in which we refer to a plastic, such as epoxy, that has been reinforced by a graphite textile. There are many uses for this product, though it is still very expensive, its properties in terms of weight-to-strength ratio are incredible. Today it is very common to find carbon fiber in bicycles, boats, planes and even quality cars. It is even being used to stave off the destruction of large structures that are facing the loss of structural integrity, as it is possible to reinforce these structures, such as bridges with the application of carbon fiber retrofit.

2. Post Tension Repair

Post tension tendon systems are often used in the design of concrete structures. These post tension systems allow engineers to design for larger concrete slab construction, typically these tendons are found in high rise condo construction and parking garages. A damaged post tension tendon system can lead to structural weakening, where catastrophic situations can occur. Only a specialty contractor such as Lovett should be relied upon for repair of these systems. It is common to find a post tension tendom system in hotels, commercial buildings, parking garages, condominiums, stadiums and hospitals,

Parking garages are under an incredible amount of stress, today, most parking garage structures are designed using post tensioning, and the proper maintenance and repair of this system is critical in order to properly maintain a sufficient, sound structure. It is important to initiate a regular maintenance program in order to protect your investment. Let Lovett take on this task for you, after all, this is what we do.

Here are some of the Restoration services Lovett offers to our customers: post-tensioning and post-tension repair, deck waterproofing systems, concrete sealers and expansion joint sealing systems, plaza rehabilitation, carbon fiber repair and installations, overhead concrete repair and more.

3 EIFS restoration – aka Exterior Insulation and Finishing System is a type of exterior wall cladding that when installed correctly provides for an insulated finish that is waterproof. These systems should be installed by a professional, and often times need to be designed by an architect. This product is commonly misidentified as Stucco.

Who knew? There happens to be several different types of EIFS systems. The one you have most likely seen is known as barrier EIFS, or more commonly known as traditional EIFS. Another one focuses on building the system to accommodate water drainage, which is also a barrier EIFS, and is known as EIFS with drainage.

Lovett Restoration & Waterproofing can identify and repair many common EIFS failures. Some examples include:

  1. Inadequate slope on weather impacted surfaces
  2. Damage to EIFS parapet tops
  3. Impact damage evaluations and repairs –often vehicle or landscape machinery impacts
  4. Missing expansion joints on floor lines where EIFS has been installed over wood frame construction.
  5. Poorly applied base coat applications in corners
  6. Installation of reveals
  7. Inadequate finish and base coat application
  8. Lack of mesh in lamina at corners of openings
  9. Failure to effectively backwrap EIFS at terminations
  10. Failure to properly install flashing in window and door openings to divert leakage
  11. Failed sealant joints around windows, doors, conduits and other penetrations in the EIFS field.
